Chrysocolla
What Is Chrysocolla?
Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper silicate with a soft, tranquil blue-green color — often found intergrown with malachite and azurite in copper deposits. Its name comes from the Greek for "gold glue," as it was once used to solder gold. Ours is the classic serene turquoise-green material.
What Is Chrysocolla Good For?
In traditional belief, chrysocolla is the stone of calm communication — associated with expressing oneself honestly and gently, easing emotional tension, and bringing a steady, patient energy to relationships and creative work.
How to Use Chrysocolla
- Wear it as a bracelet — keeps its calming color in view through the day.
Care & Cleansing
- Handle gently and keep dry — chrysocolla is soft (Mohs 2.5–3.5). Avoid water, chemicals and knocks.
- Cleansing: rest it overnight near a Clear Quartz cluster — the simplest dry reset. Moonlight around the full moon is another water-free option. Read our full cleansing guide.
- Avoid salt water — some shops recommend it as a cleansing method, but salt can permanently dull or damage the surface.
Frequently Asked Questions
