Malachite
What Is Malachite?
Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral instantly recognizable by its swirling bands of vivid green — from pale mint to deep forest. Ground into pigment since ancient Egypt and carved for millennia, it remains one of the most dramatic-looking stones in any collection. Our current piece is a natural raw specimen.
What Is Malachite Good For?
In traditional belief, malachite is the stone of transformation — associated with embracing change, releasing old patterns and moving forward with confidence. It is also traditionally kept as a protective stone for travelers and the home, and linked with emotional balance.
How to Use Malachite
- Display it — as a raw specimen, ours is made for the desk, shelf or meditation corner.
- Handle with care — raw edges can be delicate.
Care & Cleansing
- Keep it dry — malachite is soft (Mohs 3.5–4) and sensitive to water and acids. Dust gently; never soak.
- Cleansing: rest it near a Clear Quartz cluster overnight, or use moonlight around the full moon — both water-free. Read our full cleansing guide.
- Avoid salt water — some shops recommend it as a cleansing method, but salt can permanently dull or damage the surface.
